About the Company
We are representing a fast-growing energy management specialist based in Salford, providing tailored energy procurement, billing, and automation solutions across a wide range of sectors. As the business continues to scale, they are investing in digital transformation and are now seeking an IT & Automation Project Manager to lead this journey.
The Role
This newly created role will see you design, deliver, and optimise the automation of business systems across the group. The goal: to reduce labour-intensive processes and implement scalable, data-driven platforms that improve operational performance and customer outcomes.
You will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of the organisations IT and data infrastructure, with a clear trajectory toward taking ownership of the groups full IT function and joining the Senior Leadership Team.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Planning & Delivery
Lead end-to-end delivery of IT, automation, and digital transformation projects
Define project scope, timelines, budgets, and success criteria
Manage risk, change, and stakeholder alignment across departments
IT & Automation Implementation
Oversee integration of business-critical systems, dashboards, and platforms
Automate key processes to improve data accuracy, consistency, and speed
Ensure secure and reliable data flow between devices, platforms, and teams
AI & Advanced Analytics
Identify opportunities to embed AI into customer service, reporting, and forecasting
Collaborate with internal and external data teams to deliver smart, scalable solutions
Ensure new tools come with full documentation, training, and support
Leadership & Stakeholder Engagement
Act as primary project contact for all internal and external stakeholders
Run project boards, steering groups, and cross-functional reviews
Influence and guide decision-makers on digital transformation strategy
Governance & Compliance
Ensure all solutions meet data privacy, IT security, and compliance standards
Maintain detailed documentation across all phases: from design to handover
Drive lessons learned and continuous improvement across systems and teams
What Were Looking For:
Degree-qualified in IT, Engineering, Computer Science or related field
5+ years' experience delivering complex IT/automation projects
Background in energy, utilities, FINTECH (Financial Technology) or related sectors preferred ( however not essential)
Knowledge of both software and hardware integration projects
Project Management qualification (e.g., PMP, Agile) desirable
Strong stakeholder management, communication, and leadership skills
Passion for automation, data, AI, and digital transformation
Package & Benefits:
£65,000 £70,000 basic salary (DOE)
10% performance-based bonus
