Overview
Core subject (Maths, English, or Science) SEN/SEND Tutors for Young People with SEND, SEMH, and other Additional Educational Needs required in Surrey. Multiple positions are available and hiring is ongoing to meet the wide variety of needs supported. The organisation aims to transform the quality of education for young people with SEN/SEND (and related needs such as SEMH). We work with children and young people with MLD (Moderate Learning Difficulties) and SLD (Severe Learning Difficulties). Tutors are expected to have a genuine passion for transforming the lives of disengaged, at-risk, and vulnerable learners. The role involves 1:1 tutoring in a creative, flexible, holistic, and trauma-informed manner, with support from SEN/SEND Support Specialists throughout each placement. The role is suitable for qualified SEN/SEND teachers who prefer 1:1 tutoring with a variety of learning needs.

* Young people are referred by local authorities and schools and require support in their educational and social‑emotional journey
* Role delivered through flexible, holistic, trauma‑informed tutoring and mentoring
Responsibilities
* Planning each session of teaching/tutoring/mentoring
* Providing holistic and engaging sessions that meet individual needs and support educational and social‑emotional development
* Completing lesson reports and providing feedback on progress; engagement may be short‑term and on an as‑needed basis
* Contract for service; payment via PAYE
* No guaranteed hours or expenses coverage
* Insurance covers work carried out for Targeted Provision
* This is not a self‑employed position
Qualifications
* Professional Teaching Qualifications (QTS/QTLS)
* Minimum 2 years teaching experience
* Experience with young people with SEND, SEMH, MLD, SLD, or other additional needs
* Knowledge of safeguarding processes
* Enhanced DBS (assistance with obtaining at cost if needed)
* Two professional references
* UK-based with right to work in the UK (including remote/online work)
* Commitment to safeguarding policies and practices
