About the role
We’re looking for an enthusiastic and creative CommunicationsAssistant to support the delivery of engaging communications across theEast Midlands.
In this role, you’ll help produce and share content with awide range of internal and external audiences, including residents, partnersand stakeholders. You’ll work across multiple channels such as social media,the EMCCA website, newsletters, press releases and internal communications, aswell as supporting face-to-face engagement and publicity events.
Working closely with the Communications Team, you’ll supportthe delivery of campaigns that communicate EMCCA’s priorities, initiatives andachievements. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to build a careerin communications within a fast-paced, purpose-driven public-sectorenvironment.
What you’ll be doing
* Supportingthe Communications Team to develop and deliver the annual communicationsplan aligned to EMCCA priorities and the Corporate Plan.
* Assistingwith the delivery of communications activity across a range ofdisciplines, including digital, social media, internal communications andevents.
* Creatingengaging content for social media, websites, internal channels and otherdigital and print publications.
* Writingclear, relevant copy for communications materials, case studies and pressreleases.
* Supportingthe delivery of staff communications and publishing content on internalcolleague channels.
* Assistingwith monitoring and reporting on press coverage and communicationsperformance.
* Supportingthe organisation of engagement, publicity and promotional events,including in-person activity.
* Ensuringall communications comply with legal, regulatory and organisationalrequirements, including local government publicity rules, copyright anddata protection legislation.
* Workingin line with EMCCA policies and procedures, including equality anddiversity, health and safety, and corporate governance.
This role does not include direct line managementresponsibility.
What we’re looking for
* Strongverbal and written communication skills, with the ability to adaptmessages for different audiences and channels.
* Experiencein marketing, PR or content creation, including social media and producingengaging communications materials.
* Experienceof supporting internal communications and using internal channels toengage employees.
* Gooddigital and creative skills, including use of Microsoft Office, CMSplatforms, email marketing tools and basic design, photography or videoproduction.
* Acreative, proactive approach with the confidence to use your initiativeand contribute ideas.
* Strongorganisational skills, with the ability to manage time effectively,prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
* Educationto diploma level, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification or experience.
* Experienceworking in local government, the public sector or the third sector.
* Aqualification in marketing, communications, business or a related field.
