You will work within Surrey Heath Children and Young Services team based at Unither House, Chertsey covering the NW patch of Surrey.
Main duties of the job
* Provide diagnostic, assessment and treatment service for children and adolescents with mental health problems within a multi‑disciplinary approach.
* Promote high‑quality multidisciplinary working and relationships.
* Provide back‑up during an emergency out‑of‑hours rota and for A&E.
* Participate in a multidisciplinary team setting with other consultants, SAS doctors and trainees.
* Maintain a caseload of approximately 60, with review cycles as described.

Person Specification
Essential
* MBBS or equivalent recognised medical qualification.
* Full medical registration with a licence to practice.
* Approval under Section 12 of the Mental Health Act (within 6–12 months of interview).
* Fully registered with the GMC with a licence to practise.
* Included on the GMC Specialist Register or within 6 months.
* Knowledge of legislation, Department of Health guidance.
* Knowledge of NHS strategic vision in the Next Stage Review.
* Excellent clinical skills using a bio‑psycho‑social perspective.
* Experience across multiple patient groups and settings.
* Good standing with GMC concerning warnings and conditions on practice.
Desirable
* Higher degree (MD, PhD, MSc) or other clinical qualifications.
* MRCPsych or equivalent.
* Management qualification or evidence of leadership interest.
* Specific training qualification or attendance on a recognised teaching course.
* International candidate sponsorship (if applicable).
