Re-Ropes, are a UK industry leader in the supply and installation of high-quality elevator wire ropes and mechanical lift repairs. We are proud to now be part of the WH Scott Group, strengthening our position within the lift and engineering sector.
As specialists in our field, we carry out heavy repair works on behalf of independent and multinational lift service companies, providing nationwide coverage.
Our works include:
Re-roping and re-belting of lifts
Installation of new machines
Removal of traction sheaves and diverters for bearing replacement and re-grooving
SAFed inspections
Motor rewinds
Renewal of oil seals and 'A' frame bearings
Role Purpose
We are looking for a motivated Engineer's Mate to join our operations team.
You will work alongside experienced repair engineers, supporting mechanical lift repair works while gaining hands-on industry experience and training.
The role will be predominantly based across London and the South of England. There may be occasional short-term working away from home (1-2 nights) when required.

Knowledge & Skills Required
High level of health and safety awareness
Hold, or be working towards, a full UK driving licence
Live within a commutable distance of Woolwich and be able to travel across the South East region
(You will be paired with a qualified engineer who drives a company vehicle; however, flexibility to travel is essential)
Excellent verbal communication skills
Ability to understand and follow instructions
Conscientious with a natural attention to detail
Ability to carry out tasks in a professional manner
Preferred Experience (Desirable but Not Essential)
Passion for engineering and mechanical systems
Strong aptitude for mechanical repair work
Previous experience within the lift industry
