Hr product support (synergy programme)

Blackpool (Lancashire)
Synergy Programme
Posted: 24 August
Offer description

We're looking for people who are flexible, intuitive, and comfortable handling high volumes, speed, and complexity. Exciting roles have opened in the Synergy Programme, a cross-departmental group formed in response to the Government Business Service's request for departments to collaborate in 'clusters' to drive efficiencies, increase buying power, and improve shared services for our end users—our people.

The Synergy Programme is the largest of five departmental clusters, including the Ministry of Justice, Department for Work and Pensions, Department for the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, and the Home Office. It is hosted by the Department of Work and Pensions. Your work will influence procurement arrangements for the next 15 years, affecting over 50% of all Civil Servants—around 230,000 people across these departments and arm's length bodies.

The success of this programme is vital as Civil Servants depend on shared services for critical tools in HR, finance, payroll, and procurement. It impacts many aspects of daily work, from onboarding, expense claims, purchasing goods and services, to pensions.

We are particularly seeking applications from individuals passionate about delivering a transformative service for Civil Servants within the Synergy Cluster. The role offers an excellent development opportunity for an SEO to leverage HR expertise, organizational, and interpersonal skills in a dynamic environment spanning Change and HR disciplines.

You will advocate for Synergy, support the programme's objectives, and build strong relationships with HR Product Managers, Process Owners, Delivery Partners, and SMEs across the departments. Flexibility and the ability to switch focus quickly are essential for success.

Key tasks include:

1. Supporting the delivery of the HR Functional work plan by leading specific activities, tracking actions, documenting decisions, and sharing information within the team and wider groups.
2. Gathering and quality assuring data, insights, and evidence from SMEs to inform the programme's Common Operating Model and align with Government People Group principles.
3. Working collaboratively with proven organizational skills, resilience, and flexibility to operate at pace.
4. Applying HR process and policy knowledge to support impact analysis and convergence across the four departments.
5. Leading the collection and delivery of functional/user requirements throughout the programme lifecycle.
6. Communicating effectively with clarity and enthusiasm, building relationships, and influencing stakeholders to achieve positive outcomes.
7. Facilitating cross-cluster working groups, producing key information for decision-making, tracking decisions, and deputising for Product Managers as needed.

We are a Disability Confident employer. Applicants declaring a disability and meeting minimum job criteria will generally be offered an interview. Please note that during high-volume or seasonal recruitment periods, interview offers may be limited. For more details, visit our website.
