The Role
This is not a standard admin job. This is a revenue‑generating position for someone who is wired for sales, loves the thrill of the conversion, and can back it all up with meticulous, process‑driven administration.
You will be the engine behind our outbound and inbound sales operation speaking with contractors, businesses, and prospects every day, converting them onto the Genius Money tax return services including Making Tax Digital, upselling and cross‑selling with confidence, and then managing their ongoing cost centre to maximise GP and commission.
Think energy supplier switching teams, telecoms upsell agents, subscription conversion specialists people who know how to hold a conversation, read a prospect, and close. That’s who we’re looking for.
What You’ll Do
Sales & Conversion (primary focus)
* Handle inbound and outbound calls with confidence and energy, converting warm and cold prospects onto Genius Money services
* Upsell and cross‑sell across the Genius Money product range compliantly and persuasively
* Build rapport fast, identify pain points, and present solutions that genuinely land
* Hit and exceed daily/weekly conversion targets and KPIs
* Work your cost centre: manage a portfolio of converted clients, retain them, grow them, earn on them
Administration & Process
* Own the end‑to‑end administration of your converted client base: onboarding, documentation, compliance checks, data accuracy
* Maintain CRM records to an impeccably high standard every contact, every call, every outcome logged
* Process agreements, new starter packs, and service activations swiftly and accurately
* Liaise with payroll, compliance, and finance teams to ensure seamless client transitions
* Produce regular reports on conversion rates, cost centre performance, and GP generated
* Take personal responsibility for your cost centre the portfolio of clients you’ve converted. Monitor GP performance and commission generation across your book
* Identify upsell and retention opportunities proactively within your existing client base
* Own your numbers. Know your numbers.
Who You Are
You have probably come from one of these backgrounds (or something very similar):
* Energy supplier switching / comparison inbound/outbound sales
* Telecoms (broadband, TV, mobile) upsell and conversion roles
* Financial services / insurance telephone‑based sales
* Contractor services / umbrella / payroll sales
You are:
* A natural communicator confident, articulate, persuasive on the phone
* Obsessively organised administration is not a burden, it is how you protect your numbers
* You think on your feet and fast. You adapt mid‑conversation without missing a beat
* Entrepreneurial – you treat your cost centre like it is your own business
* Driven by commission – you want the uncapped upside and you know how to earn it
* Accountable – you own your results, good and bad
You can demonstrate:
* A track record of hitting and exceeding sales targets in a telephone‑based role
* Experience managing CRM systems accurately and consistently
* Ability to handle objections calmly and convert sceptical prospects
* Strong numerical literacy you understand margin, GP, and what drives commission

The Details
Location: Portsmouth (office‑based we are a floor‑walking, energy‑in‑the‑room culture)
Hours: Monday‑Friday, 8:00 am – 5:30 pm
Start date: Monday 27th April 2026 (earlier considered for the right candidate)
Reporting to: Operations Director / Head of Sales
