Product Manager - EMEA Region
The product manager (“PM”) will be responsible for marketing several new and/or existing Gowan branded products. The PM is the lead resource for everything related to regional EMEA products, including marketing, supply chain, development, regulatory, and sales support. The PM plans and coordinates with other groups within the organization to source the necessary information to develop and execute strategies in three main areas:
1. Product Management: Creation of marketing plans including pricing strategy, regional communication, product specifications, and positioning. Develop familiarity with markets and competitors to support plans. Educate commercial teams on differentiation and develop clear brand messaging. Responsible for the profit contribution of assigned products.
2. Project Management: Manage assigned projects such as product registration, launches, expansion, and formulation development. Oversee these initiatives from inception to completion.
3. Portfolio Strategy: Develop and implement strategies to refresh and expand the regional portfolio, including new product classes or rationalizations. Interface with global asset teams on long-term regional portfolio strategies.
The PM reports to the Head of Marketing and Development for the region and collaborates closely with the EMEA development team and other stakeholders (sales, regulatory, finance, supply).
Examples of Duties
General Duties
* Develop vision and strategic plans for products, projects, and active ingredients in EMEA.
* Make decisions on strategic and operational activities related to assigned products and projects.
* Coordinate tasks supporting product lifecycle management.
* Maintain active communication with the global office and supporting functions.
* Ensure EMEA specificities are incorporated into overall ingredient strategies.
* Coordinate global product strategies and activities across departments.
* Support regional negotiations and activities with third parties.
* Build and lead project management efforts to ensure project completion.
* Establish and maintain a product P&L to ensure long-term profitability.
Specific Duties
* Set guidelines for product positioning and pricing in the territory, considering costs and returns.
* Identify marketing and sales opportunities within the territory, including new crop uses and pests.
* Support product development by establishing market potential and business justification for submissions.
* Lead development and negotiation for mixtures with demonstrated market potential, including third-party rights.
* Provide technical support and information to the territory, with assistance from development colleagues.
Minimum Qualifications
* Degree in Marketing, Biological Sciences, Agriculture/Agronomy, or equivalent experience with crop protection products.

* Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Experience with project analysis, costing, and budgeting.
* Knowledge of market strategy, segmentation, and positioning.
* Comfortable presenting to diverse audiences.
* Experience launching or rejuvenating products.
* Knowledge of both specialty and broad-acre crop production.
* Entrepreneurial attitude and ability to build consensus.
* Advanced skills in Microsoft Office.
* Willingness to travel up to 30%, primarily domestically within the EMEA region.
