General Services Assistant - Launceston Hospital

We are seeking a General Services Assistant to join our team and help maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for patients, staff, and visitors. As a General Services Assistant, you will play a vital part in ensuring the smooth running of our facilities. This varied role includes cleaning, stock control, kitchen support, and portering duties, all carried out in line with Trust policies and high standards of care.
We are recruiting for 18 hours per week. Shift pattern worked over 7 days per week as Early 7am‑1pm; Late 1pm‑7pm and Long day 7am‑7pm.

Main duties of the job
Maintain cleanliness of the establishment in accordance with Quality Control Standards. Receipt and check goods, reporting any errors promptly. Assist with stock control and marking in the absence of the Senior GSA. Safeguard all keys and equipment issued during your duties. Move and change oxygen cylinders as required. Report breakdowns and security issues, adhering to Trust policies. Support kitchen duties and portering tasks as trained and requested. Ensure compliance with Health & Safety legislation and COSHH requirements. Provide courteous and helpful service to colleagues, patients, and visitors, respecting dignity and privacy at all times.

Education/Qualifications
* Good basic level of ability in Maths and English
* Experience of preparing and serving meals for a range of clients with different dietary requirements
* Experience of working in a care setting

* Basic IT Skills
* Able to carry out cleaning tasks to a high standard
