Our network spans small animal, farm and equine practices across a diverse and dynamic landscape of veterinary medicine.At the heart of our organisation are our Five Principles:Quality – We are committed to quality in our work and our contribution to society.Responsibility – We act now, as individuals and as a company.Mutuality – We make decisions that benefit all stakeholders.Efficiency – We maximise the value of our resources.Freedom – We maintain the financial freedom to make independent decisions.The RoleThis is a key position within the Finance team, focused on ensuring that Linnaeus management reporting is accurate, complete and meaningful to the business.You will play an important role in supporting the Head of GL, FP&A and Business Partnering teams—providing confidence in UK&I financials, ensuring period-end reporting is delivered on time and to a high standard, and contributing to key finance projects.Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Reporting & Period-End ManagementManage daily accounting activities, including journal transactions.Deliver period-end internal reporting in Oracle.Ensure periodic and quarterly financials meet group reporting deadlines.Reconcile financials between Oracle and group reporting systems, ensuring accuracy and understanding of variances.Period-End DutiesComplete sales, wellness plan and revenue deferral data import checks.Post and approve journals (revenue, bad debt, accruals, prepayments).Support reconciliation between Oracle and group reporting systems.Provide reporting and dashboards to business functions.Balance Sheet & ControlsTake ownership of balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring high standards and timely completion.Report risks and opportunities effectively.Support annual P&L budgeting and quarterly reforecast processes.Provide assurance that robust financial procedures and controls are in place.Promote continuous improvement and excellence in financial controls.Support remediation of control gaps within the internal controls framework.Skills requiredEssential ExperienceProven track record within a fast-paced, multi-site business.Experience leading, mentoring and building teams.Delivery of reporting within tight deadlines.Implementation of robust financial controls.Demonstrable efficiency improvements.Desirable ExperienceExperience in specialist retail or medical environments.Reporting into a large group structure.Knowledge of US GAAP.QualificationsQualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).Skills & AttributesStrong numerical, written and verbal communication skills.Ability to present complex financial matters clearly to non-financial stakeholders.Excellent IT skills.Strong commercial acumen.Collaborative approach with colleagues.Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining strategic focus.High professional integrity and strong work ethic.Adaptable and able to lead through change.Passion for continuous learning and development.#LI-CP-1#LI-HYBRIDWe are proud to be Linnaeus, part of Mars.
