Salary: Up to £40,000 per annum (depending on experience)
Shift Pattern: Double Days – 6am-2pm / 2pm-10pm, alternating weekly

The Opportunity
We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established precision engineering company based in Luton for an experienced CNC Turner to join their busy machine shop. This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled machinist who takes pride in their work and is looking to develop within a thriving production environment where quality and precision are paramount.
The successful CNC Turner / CNC Machinist will be capable of both setting and operating CNC lathes to produce high-quality machined components. Experience programming Fanuc controls is highly desirable and would be a significant advantage.
Key Responsibilities
1. Set and operate CNC lathes to produce precision-machined components to tight tolerances
2. Write and edit part programmes using Fanuc controls (conversational and/or G-code)
3. Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
4. Select and set appropriate tooling, speeds, feeds and cutting parameters
5. Carry out first-off and in-process inspection using standard measuring equipment (micrometers, verniers, gauges)
6. Maintain consistent quality standards and ensure components meet customer specifications
7. Perform routine machine maintenance and report any faults or tooling issues promptly
8. Work efficiently within a team-based machine shop to meet production targets
9. Maintain a clean, organised and safe working area in line with company procedures
Skills & Experience Required
Essential:
10. Proven CNC turning experience – setting and operating
11. Ability to work from engineering drawings and technical specifications
12. Competent use of precision measuring equipment
13. Good understanding of tooling, speeds and feeds for turning operations
14. High attention to detail and a commitment to quality
15. Ability to work to production schedules in a busy machine shop environment
Desirable:
16. CNC Programming experience with Fanuc controls
17. Experience working across a range of materials (steel, aluminium, brass, plastics)
18. Multi-axis turning or sub-spindle experience
19. Recognised engineering apprenticeship or equivalent qualification
