PART TIME - 22.5 HOURS PER WEEK
We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated pharmacist to join our team, working alongside the Microbiology Consultants. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to antimicrobial stewardship within the Trust and ensure the safe and effective use of antimicrobials in our Outpatient Parenteral Antimicrobial Therapy (OPAT) service.
This post is suitable for a pharmacist with excellent clinical knowledge, good communication skills, and experience in antimicrobials.
To support 7-day working, you will participate in on-call, weekend, Bank Holiday, and late duty rotas.
1. Attend antimicrobial ward rounds regularly with microbiology consultants.
2. Provide specialist clinical input into the Trust OPAT service and contribute to weekly MDT meetings.
3. Work towards the Trust’s antimicrobial stewardship strategy.
4. Ensure appropriate monitoring and follow-up for patients on OPAT, auditing outcomes in conjunction with the team.
5. Undertake audits for antimicrobials and antifungals, including CQUINs, with microbiology consultants.
6. Train multidisciplinary team members in the appropriate use of antimicrobials.

Role Responsibilities
1. Ensure the appropriate and effective use of antimicrobials to reduce antimicrobial resistance, using evidence-based prescribing policies.
2. Attend ward rounds daily with microbiology consultants, with outcomes audited.
3. Ensure antimicrobial use within OPAT is safe and effective.
4. Conduct CQUIN audits for antimicrobials and antifungals with microbiology consultants.
