About The Purchasing Supervisor
As a Purchasing Supervisor, you will play a key role in supporting the continued growth of the fluid power team at Hayley Dexis. Reporting into the Product Manager, you will support the purchasing function, ensuring the timely and cost‑effective procurement of materials, components, and services critical to operational success.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead, motivate, and support the purchasing team, providing guidance and prioritising workloads
* Source, negotiate, and place orders for materials, components, and services in line with business requirements
* Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure quality, cost, and delivery expectations are met
* Monitor supplier performance and address issues relating to quality, delivery, or cost
* Identify cost saving opportunities and support strategic sourcing and supplier rationalisation initiatives
* Ensure purchasing processes comply with company procedures, quality standards, and commercial agreements
* Manage purchase order accuracy, pricing, and lead times within the ERP/MRP system
* Mitigate supply chain risks and proactively resolve shortages or delays
* Provide purchasing data, reporting, and insights to support operational and management decision making
What we're looking for in our Purchasing Supervisor
* Proven experience in a purchasing or procurement role
* Previous experience supervising or mentoring others, with the confidence to lead day‑to‑day activities
* Strong supplier management and negotiation skills, with a focus on quality, cost, and delivery
* Ability to work collaboratively with engineering, production, and planning teams
* Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment
