Job Title: Building Safety Coordinator/Business Support
1–2-month contract with a local authority
Job Purpose
* The Building Safety Coordinator will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and compliance of high-rise residential buildings within the council housing stock. The successful candidate will work within the community, both individually and as part of a team, to contribute to the development and smooth running of high-rise locations in accordance with local policies, procedures, and legislation.
Key Duties/Accountabilities
* Regulatory Compliance: Assist with ensuring that all buildings comply with relevant health & safety legislation and regulations, including the Building Safety Act.
* Risk Assessments: Conduct regular safety inspections of communal areas to identify hazards and report for necessary remedial action.
* Documentation Management: Maintain comprehensive records of PCFRA’s and ensure all paperwork is up to date and accessible.
* Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with housing management, maintenance teams, and external contractors to coordinate safety-related tasks.
* Resident Communication: Serve as a point of contact for residents regarding building safety concerns. Provide information and support to help residents understand safety measures.
* Business administration support within the Estate Operations Team.
Essential Experience Required
* Ability to converse at ease with customers and provide advice in accurate spoken English.
* Experience of regular face-to-face engagement, including working in a customer service type role.
* Knowledge of relevant health and safety and residents’ safety regulations (including PCFRA’s function).
* Experience of working in a fast-paced environment, with many competing priorities.
* Experience of maintaining partnerships.
Essential Qualification Required
* Education or qualification in a related field is essential.

* Working hours: 36 hours per week
* Enhanced DBS check required for the role.
