A specialist SEN school in NR16 is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team ASAP. This role is ideal for someone experienced supporting pupils with ASD, complex learning needs, and physical or medical support requirements.
About the Role
As a SEN TA, you will:
* Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD)
* Assist with manual handling, mobility, and personal care tasks
* Deliver sensory, life skills, and communication-based learning activities
* Use visual supports, Makaton, or AAC systems where appropriate
* Promote engagement, independence, and emotional wellbeing
* Work closely with teachers, therapists, and other support staff to meet EHCP targets
* Maintain a safe, structured, and nurturing classroom environment
About You
* Experience supporting pupils with ASD or complex physical and learning needs
* Patient, resilient, and compassionate
* Strong communication and teamwork skills
* Committed to promoting independence and positive outcomes for vulnerable pupils
* Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
