Senior Electrical Design Engineer
We are hiring for our client, a globally recognised engineering manufacturer, as they continue to invest in innovation and sustainable product development. This Senior Electrical Design Engineer role sits at the heart of a highly experienced Electrical Design Team and offers the opportunity to take ownership of complex electrical schematics that power next-generation engineering solutions.
The successful Senior Electrical Design Engineer will play a critical role in electrical system design, testing and compliance, working closely with cross-functional engineering teams to deliver high-quality, market-leading products. This position is well suited to an experienced engineer who enjoys technical leadership, problem‑solving and contributing to continuous improvement within a modern manufacturing environment.
The Role
* Lead the design of electrical drawings, schematics and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
* Produce detailed technical documentation including work instructions, parts lists and maintenance manuals.
* Mentor and support other engineers, providing technical guidance and practical design solutions.
* Research and test manufacturing and assembly methods to improve electrical products and processes.
* Contribute to R&D projects, supporting new product development and range expansion.
* Design and carry out electrical testing methods to ensure product performance and reliability.
* Ensure full compliance with electrical design regulations, ISO 9001 standards and health & safety procedures.
* Act as a technical point of contact, responding to electrical queries across the wider engineering team.
The Person
* HND (or equivalent) in Electrical / Electronic Engineering, or significant relevant industry experience.
* Minimum 5 years' post‑graduate experience in a similar electrical design role.
* Strong experience producing electrical schematics and technical drawings to industry standards.
* Proficient with AutoCAD, SolidWorks and EPLAN (or similar design software).
* Excellent understanding of current electrical regulations and compliance requirements.
* Comfortable working autonomously while contributing effectively within a team environment.
* Strong communication skills with the confidence to share technical knowledge and mentor others.
