We are currently seeking a highly organised and proactive Buyer/Scheduler to join our dynamic team. This role is crucial in supporting the efficient delivery of our production schedule while maintaining effective purchasing and inventory management. Key Responsibilities: In this position you will play a pivotal role in ensuring our production processes run smoothly and efficiently. Your responsibilities include: Plan and schedule production builds based on sales orders, forecasts and material availability. Coordinate production schedules with internal teams including design, engineering and manufacturing to meet delivery targets. Ensure the continuous supply of raw materials, components and subcontract services in line with project timelines and budgets. Monitor and maintain optimal inventory levels ensuring stock accuracy and minimising excess or obsolete materials. Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, negotiating pricing, lead times, and delivery schedules. Collaborate closely with cross-functional departments including Sales, Design, and Stores to ensure purchasing aligns with business requirements. Track and report on production progress, purchase orders, inventory metrics and supply chain performance. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives in procurement and production planning processes Key Skills and Experience: Proven experience in a similar Buyer/Scheduler or Production Planner role within the manufacturing or engineering industry. Strong understanding of supply chain management, production scheduling and inventory control. Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency in the use of ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office Applications. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration across all departments and with suppliers. A proactive, detail-oriented mindset and a drive for process improvement.
