Are you an experienced support professional with strong leadership skills and a passion for helping families thrive? We are seeking a dedicated Team Leader to join our residential assessment centre and play a key role in ensuring high‑quality support, safety, and wellbeing for families in our care.
As a Team Leader, you will guide staff, oversee daily operations, maintain high standards of practice, and ensure families receive the support they need throughout their placement.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
* Lead support workers on shift, ensuring wellbeing walks, resident engagement, sessions, and daily tasks are completed consistently.
* Supervise night staff to ensure the needs of the service are met.
* Form part of the on‑call rota system.
* Support the RM with allocating key workers for families.
* Attend meetings and work collaboratively with internal teams and external professionals.
Family Support & Engagement
* Maintain the wellbeing of residents during shifts, including ensuring feeding charts, bathing charts (if required), and mental health check‑ins are completed.
* Ensure families are offered meaningful activities to support engagement and reduce boredom.
* Communicate with health visiting services before and after placements.
* Ensure all families are registered with the local GP within 5 days of arrival.
* Liaise closely with social workers regarding weekly family tasks and expectations.
Case Recording & Documentation
Complete and oversee high‑quality chronologies, placement plans, weekly reports, and family schedules.
Ensure the admission and discharge register is accurately updated.
Ensure incident reports are completed within 24 hours and shared with managers and social workers.
Use admin days effectively to update placement plans, risk assessments, chronologies, and ensure all documentation is complete.
Provide written acknowledgements for resident complaints in the absence of the Manager.
Notify Ofsted of serious events when the Manager is absent, after liaising with the Responsible Individual.
Centre Safety, Governance & Compliance
Take responsibility for medication audits, fire drills, and health and safety checks.
Ensure the centre remains clean, safe, and free from hazards both internally and externally.
Support rota responsibilities alongside management.
Liaise with accounts regarding invoices and ensure spreadsheets and financial records are up to date.
Partnership & Team Collaboration
Work closely with social workers, support staff, and the management team to ensure no delays in family assessments.
Complete some weekly reports on behalf of the team when required.
Promote a positive team culture and lead by example through professionalism, empathy, and strong communication.
