What You’ll Do
We are hiring for a Senior Business Development Manager to join the Public Sector Sales function within Business. The Public Sector is a strategically important area for Business, with the ambition to rapidly increase market share and achieve year on year revenue growth in a complex and mature market
This role will lead the team and be an expert in the Public Sector. Using knowledge and insight on Public Sector priorities, regulations, and government policies, you will be responsible for proactively enabling growth across the Public Sector through identification of new revenue streams, amplifying and retaining existing ones, and building credibility across the market by positioning the business as a trusted digital partner.
Directly lead and manage a team of Public Sector Business Development Managers Develop the growth strategy, including the creation of a quarterly roadmap of compelling events. Build a plan to capitalise and collaborate with Sales Account Managers to execute Understand and upskill the sales team on the priorities, barriers & challenges, key drivers, stakeholders, competitor landscape, regulations, governing bodies, funding flows, and influential factors impacting spend behaviours across the public sector. Identify initiatives to leverage these for new business generation Build key internal stakeholder relationships and engage their support in delivering objectives Monitor government priorities, tracking policy and regulatory developments to ensure VodafoneThree’s offerings are aligned with public sector goals. Provide recommendations to the Public Sector technology team where new offerings are required Facilitate ‘innovation events’ alongside the Sales Field team, bringing together key stakeholders from industry, relevant partners, and cross-functional VodafoneThree teams to showcase our capabilities and nurture sales opportunities Lead the development of industry partnerships and relationships with industry networks. Nurture the relationship to create revenue-driving opportunities, executed by the Sales team Support the Head of Public Sector with briefing notes to support participation at government forums, supplier events, and round tables Build and manage relationships across system integrators in the sector to generate growth and elevate VodafoneThree’s profile Work with the whole team, building a high-performance focus across the Public Sector environment with exceptional capability to succeed in a highly competitive market Deliver growth for strategic services in target markets to include fixed, mobile, hosting, M2M, Unified Communications, TWM, driving revenue and margin improvement whilst increasing market share Ensure relevant C-level relationships to drive engagement and lead the Vodafone brand ‘story’ by maintaining strong relationships to understand our customers better Ensure well-managed governance engagement to support all bids from early engagement through to propose, negotiate, and close
Who You Are
Extensive experience in Business Development, managing large and complex client portfolios Experience in the Telecoms and/or Technology sector Proven ability to work ambiguously to develop strategic plans and effectively articulate the vision Skilled at turning market insight into revenue-generating opportunities Track record of successful senior stakeholder relationship building, with the ability to present at C-suite level to influence and obtain buy-in Experience of building large-scale opportunities and delivering with system integrators Experience working directly for, or within a Public Sector environment is highly desired Prior line management experience is highly desired
