Role
The Senior Specification Technologist is a key role, with responsibility for supporting the creation and maintenance of specifications for new and existing products across over 40 EMEA markets.
Our client is an extremely successful, global market leading consumer brand with multi-billion turnover and high consumer engagement across channels. The role is split between the West London office (2 days a week) and home (3 days a week).
The role responsibilities
* As Senior Specifications Technologist you will work cross functionally to ensure the accurate creation, maintenance and management of product specifications across multiple markets in the UK, Europe and Middle East.
* Ensure effective communication with other functions on the progress of specifications, raise any issues with timing and ensure products are launched on time with accurate data (eg ingredients, allergens, nutritional information).
* Keep up to date with routine reviews of the specifications and implement changes quickly.
* Develop and grow strong relationships with supplier technical teams through effective communication.
* Drive continuous improvement by reviewing existing standards and documentation to benefit internal and external stakeholders and enhance the specification process.
* Support recipe management systems and contribute to successful campaign and product launches across the business.
* Work in a role suited for individuals with a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role, with experience gained from retail, hospitality or FMCG (Food/Drinks) including compliance and specifications understanding.
* Demonstrate excellent data, Excel and report writing skills, with a relevant degree (Food Science, Food Technology or related field). Power BI experience is a bonus.
* Maintain knowledge of food safety, QMS (Quality Management Systems) and labelling legislation (eg ISO 9001, FSSC 22000, BRC Standards).
* Stay updated with changes in legislation and develop yourself to learn about new categories. Strong understanding of food labeling legislation and allergen management is essential.
* Demonstrate stakeholder engagement, relationship building and communication skills internally and externally.
* Show excellent project management experience with the ability to drive engagement and execution across the business.
* Thrive in a matrix, collaborative blue‑chip environment that is down to earth, caring and personable.
