Reports to: Maintenance Foreman
Position Summary: To maintain or repair PDM fabrication equipment, material handling equipment, buildings, facilities and processes. Work on “projects” that improve PDM’s processes. Make building and facility repairs.

Responsibilities and Areas of Accountability:
* PM machines based on PM procedures to help ensure machines run properly and efficiently
* Troubleshoot mechanical/electrical/hydraulic issues on equipment that is down
* Contract vendors for supplies and recommendations
* Input information into the Limble tracking system
* Strategically visualize and communicate project plans and supplies needs
* Identify steel shapes and sizes
* Operate overhead cranes, forklifts, jib cranes, gantry cranes, conveyors, machines and transfers in order to PM or repair them
* Any other duties assigned by management (plow snow, sand lot and grounds maintenance)
* Attend all meetings as required by management
* Consistently and reliably works scheduled hours at assigned locations
* Make sure preventative maintenance schedules are being followed
* Ensure all trailer inspections and repairs to be in compliance with DOT
* Follow all OSHA and ANSI regulations
* Externally maintains good public relations with vendors, outside contractors, and other companies, etc.
Requirements
Knowledge & Skills:
* Visual ability to read and interpret schematics, manuals, etc.
* Ability to read, write and perform higher arithmetic computations involving addition, subtraction, multiplication and division of whole numbers, decimals and fractions
* Ability to understand and carry out semi-complicated verbal and written instructions
* Ability to effectively communicate with vendors, co-workers, supervisors and managers
* Ability to work under periodic supervision focused on the process of work and setting priorities for job completion
* Skill in using tape measure or other measuring devices
* Ability to possess pride in own workmanship, demonstrate attention to detail and work safely
* Ability to operate forklifts and overhead cranes in a safe and proper manner
* Perform minor/major mechanical tasks on machines
* Ability to multi-task
* Applicants must be able to walk and stand on feet for extended period of time, lift, push and pull up to 75 lbs., crawl on hands and knees, climb a ladder and be able to work long hours.
* This position works outdoors year-round and therefore subject to all weather conditions sometimes to include extreme cold and heat.
Machines Utilized: Overhead cranes, jib cranes, gantry cranes, transfers, fabrication process equipment, computers, tractors, mobile yard crane, snowplow/sander, manlift and forklift
Education: Minimum High School Diploma or GED equivalent, 2 year degree a plus
Experience: 3 years’ experience in maintenance desired
