We are a teachingand training practice with 3 GP partners and a Clinical Pharmacist Partner, committedto delivering excellent patient care to our 11,000 patients.
We envisage that this post will start in September 2026.

Main duties of the job
ThePractice Business Manager is responsible for the overall leadership andoversight of operational management of the practice, including HR,premises/facilities management, supporting the complaints process and ensuringregulatory compliance. They will manage the practices overall performanceandfinances with support from other members of the management team.
They willalso work closely with the partners on business development and strategy,negotiate contracts and identify new systems and opportunities and developservices to enhance patient care and staff wellbeing. They will also work collaborativelywith our PCN.
The successful candidate will beapproachable and promote a positive work culture.They will also be proactive, innovativeand solutions focussed, with the ability to prioritise the varied workload ofthe role.
Experience in managing teams,compliance and HR is essential, along with strong IT skills.

We are an established Teaching and Trainingpractice and are involved with the UEA medical school Years 1 & 2 studentsand Year 5 Cambridge students.
The practice is part of the Mid-NorfolkPrimary Care Network (PCN) which ismade up of local GP practices, working together with the aim of improving healthcare for thecommunity and reducing health inequalities for its patients.
Our CQC rating is Good (2018).
Job responsibilities
a) Overseethe management of the day-to-day operations of the practice, ensuring thatstaff achieve their primary responsibilities.
b) Overseethe HR processes, including recruitment, relevant checks, contractual issues,appraisals and staff performance.
c) Workforceplanning to ensure a good skill mix with staff having the appropriate levelof training to enable them to carry out their individual roles andresponsibilities effectively.
d) Ensureemployment law and legislation is adhered to.
e) Liaisewith the Primary Care Network (PCN) and locality commissioners, attendmeetings and promote collaborative working.
f)Provide support and advice to thepartnership and keep them updated on practice matters.
g) Keepup to date with developments and changes within primary care.
h) Manage payroll and pensions,ensuring accurate reporting and submissions.
i)Workclosely with the Partners on financial planning, budget setting andforecasting.
j)Ensure the practice explores allopportunities to maximise income and reduce expenditure.
k) EnsureQuality and Outcomes Framework (QOF) and commissioned service targets aremet.
l)Oversee the significant event andcomplaints processes, in line with current legislation and guidance.
m) Managecontracts and maintenance for services and equipment.
n) Overseethe review and update of all practice policies and procedures.
o) Leadand coordinate projects within the practice.
p) Overseethe management of the practice IT system, including compliance with the DataSecurity Protection Toolkit (DSPT).
q) Coordinatethe practice development plan and business continuity plan.
r) Dealwith the preparation of business cases for new services and provide projectmanagement, as required.
s) Ensureon-going CQC compliance.
t) Ensurethe practice maintains compliance with its NHSE contractual obligations.
u) Provideadvice and support to the staff and the partnership to ensure effective teamworking.
v) Manageeffective communication, both internal and external and ensure the websiteand other communication platforms are accurate and up to date.
w) Facilitatepartners and practice meetings and maintain an up-to-date action plan.
x) Supportthe management of the Patient Participation Group.
y) Manageestates and facilities, including health and safety aspects and riskassessments.

Qualifications
* Literacy and numeracy skills sufficient to manage a small to medium sized business
* Educated to degree level in healthcare or business
Experience
* Experience of managing multidisciplinary teams
* Experience for financial management, including forecasting and budgeting
* Experience of successfully developing and implementing projects
* Experience of HR processes, workforce planning and development
* Experience of performance management including appraisals, staff development and disciplinary procedures
* Experience of working in a practice management role
* Experience of QuickBooks accounting
* Experience of working in a healthcare setting
* NHS/primary care and/or general practice experience
* Relevant health and safety experience
