The Senior Sales Development Representative (Senior SDR) plays a key leadership role within the Commercial team, responsible for driving the success of Sponge’s SDR function. This role combines high-performance individual prospecting, ensuring a strong pipeline of qualified leads that support revenue growth.
Reporting into the Sales Director. They collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing, and Revenue Operations to optimise processes, refine messaging, and continuously improve the quality and quantity of opportunities generated.
Job Requirements
Significant Proven SDR experience: Proven success in outbound sales development, including cold outreach, lead qualification, and pipeline contribution.
CRM and sales tools expertise: Advanced use of Salesforce, SalesLoft (or similar), and prospecting tools such as LinkedIn Sales Navigator.
Strong commercial acumen: Ability to understand client challenges and articulate Sponge’s value proposition with clarity and relevance.
Coaching and mentoring mindset: Committed to supporting SDR development through feedback, training, and role modelling.
Data-driven and process-focused: Uses insight to drive continuous improvement in messaging, outreach tactics, and performance management.
Job Responsibilities
Own lead generation: Maintain personal responsibility for outreach activity and qualified opportunity creation to model high performance.
Drive team KPIs: Set and track SDR KPIs and contribute to forecasting and pipeline planning in partnership with the Sales Director.
Process optimisation: Improve SDR workflows and tools to increase efficiency, conversion rates, and performance consistency.
Cross-functional collaboration: Provide feedback and insights to Sales and Marketing to continuously refine ICP targeting, messaging, and campaign effectiveness.
