We have a lovely opportunity for an experienced finance and accounts professional to join a fantastic, friendly business in a part time capacity. Working as the company’s Accounts Senior, at the office just outside of Stowmarket Town Centre on a permanent basis working between 16 – 20 hours per week. The start and finish times are flexible to suit but need to be worked in the office between Mon-Fri (additionally on the 25 th of each month, for payroll) The hourly rate is open to discussion, depending on the person’s individual skills and experiences. The Company Our client is a well-established business sourcing and supplying electronic components for a wide range of markets. They’re a friendly team of around 10 and are ideally seeking somebody to join them for the long-term and become a much-valued member of their growing business. The Job The Accounts Senior will be responsible for the control of all of the in-house accounts, liaising with the Accountant when required and working alongside the Office Manager and company Directors. Responsibilities involve: Monthly payroll to be conducted on the 25 th of each month therefore some flexibility on work week is required for payroll to be completed Credit Control Sending Invoices Make payments to suppliers Dealing with all general accounts/finance queries Assist with month and year end accounts preparation Reconciliation of company bank accounts Manage foreign exchange/trade Providing weekly reports VAT Essential Requirements This role requires an experienced, confident Accounts and Finance person, with proven experience in the above duties. Ideally, you will have experience of working in a similar small business environment, within a commercial operation. Essential requirements are: Confident user of SAGE Proven experience with the required tasks of this role including strong knowledge of VAT Experience with dealing with foreign currencies, USD/EURO/YEN and have the knowledge to convert them to GBP. High attention to detail and accuracy Good computer skills and confidence using spreadsheets and systems Ability to work independently and meet deadlines Happy to provide general support to the Office Manager and team, where required Good people skills and professional communication style; confident, friendly, open Living within a reasonably commutable distance to Stowmarket, with a reliable mode of transport to reach the office each day (the office is located out of the town centre and is a 30-minute walk from the train station) How to Apply Please apply to Kate Howes through our website or alternatively, you can email a copy of your CV to kate@horizoneast.co.uk To improve your application, it would be beneficial to provide a covering letter with your application explaining why you feel you would enjoy this role, and why you think you’d be a good match for the position.
