GSL Education is currently recruiting a 1:1 Learning Support Assistant to work with a child with autism in a highly regarded primary school in Harlow. The school benefits from a dedicated SEN provision, providing a structured, well-resourced environment with strong staff support.
The Role
This full-time position is available immediately and offers the chance to become a valued member of a caring SEN team. You will work closely with one pupil, supporting their learning, emotional regulation, and social development throughout the school day.
Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities
* Delivering individualised 1:1 support for a pupil with autism
* Supporting learning within both the classroom and the specialist SEN setting
* Helping the pupil access lessons through adapted strategies and routines
* Promoting independence, engagement, and positive behaviour
* Working collaboratively with the class teacher, SENCO, and support staff
* Creating a calm, safe, and inclusive learning environment
We’re Looking For Someone Who:
* Has experience supporting children with autism and additional needs
* Is calm, patient, and confident supporting emotional and behavioural needs
* Communicates well and works effectively as part of a team
* Is passionate about inclusive education and child development
* Holds an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or is happy to apply)
Relevant qualifications such as CACHE Level 2 or 3 are beneficial but not essential.
