What is a Business Development Representative II You’re a high-integrity, high-performing seller, who loves the process of selling, closing deals and helping buyers make good decisions. Responsibilities We expect you to be great at: Listening really, really (really) well, both to buyers (while you’re selling to them) and your teammates (while you’re working with them) Running persuasive product demos, which focus on addressing buyer needs by showcasing relevant product capabilities Dealing with a very high volume of inbound opportunities each month (anywhere from 40 to 70 new opportunities each month), without becoming overwhelmed or allowing your standards to drop Communicating with buyers (on calls and via email) in a professional, friendly and persuasive way Diligently following up with your opportunities, sending them concise updates, responses to their questions and tidbits of useful information Managing the discovery process, uncovering buyer pains, goals and compelling events, alongside insights about competitors and the market Great at qualifying deals—sniffing out the opportunities that can close and doubling down on them, while accurately judging bad-fit opportunities and letting go of them in a timely manner Following instructions, using and updating our CRM (HubSpot) in line with our sales processes, methodology and strategy Closing deals (of course), hitting revenue targets, raising them… and then hitting them again About the role CharlieHR’s sales team is currently having its best months ever—with record numbers, in terms of both demos sat and new business closed won. We’re looking for a strong seller, with a great attitude, to help us really capitalise on the momentum we have. All our demos are inbound and driven by a strong marketing team—so, there’ll be no shortage of leads. Our core sales team is made of: A business development representative (BDR), who sits demos with buyers and manages the sales process until closed A sales manager, who ensures standards and results are high within the team, while ensuring team members are well taken care of We hope you’ll slot into this unit to help us sit more demos, close more deals and generate more revenue. Knowledge and skills You will be known for having: A clear, thoughtful and persuasive approach to communication A very (very) organised approach to your work and selling A strong desire to help your teammates, hit targets and make money A decent background in selling B2B software (even better if it’s to small businesses) A lot of humility and desire to learn A high level of self-awareness (about your personality, strengths, weaknesses and aspirations) A high level of resilience and sense of ownership (i.e. when things get tough, you focus on what you can control and how you can improve) A high level of agency and drive (i.e. you set and maintain high standards for yourself, and always want to give your best) A deep passion for the craft sales and selling (you know it’s not just about pushing people, it’s about understanding their problems and helping them make a helpful choice) This is a permanent full-time role.
