Job Purpose To ensure the fair and proper conduct of examinations in an environment that enables all candidates to perform at their best. Exam Invigilators help uphold the integrity of the examination process by supervising students and following exam board regulations. Key Responsibilities * Set up exam rooms in accordance with the instructions provided (e.g., arranging desks, exam papers, and signage). * Check candidate identification and ensure they are seated according to the seating plan. * Distribute and collect examination papers and materials. * Supervise candidates throughout the exam, ensuring they follow the rules and regulations. * Respond to any candidate queries during the exam without compromising exam integrity. * Report any incidents, irregularities, or suspected malpractice to the Exams Officer immediately. * Maintain confidentiality and security of exam materials at all times. * Ensure health and safety regulations are observed in the exam room. * Assist with packing and returning exam papers to the Exams Officer after the session. Person Specification Essential: * Reliability, punctuality, and a high level of integrity. * Strong attention to detail. * Ability to remain calm and authoritative under pressure. * Good communication and interpersonal skills. * Ability to follow written and verbal instructions precisely. Desirable: * Previous experience as an invigilator or in a supervisory role. * Familiarity with exam procedures in schools or other educational settings. Working Hours This is a casual role during exam periods (typically May–June and November–January). Hours are variable depending on the exam schedule and may include morning and afternoon sessions
