The Role
At Proofpoint – Tessian, we’re building intelligent security that works for human beings as they are, not how security policies would like them to be. The Cloud Email Security platform helps enterprises defend against email attacks, protect against data loss, and respond to security incidents more efficiently. Using machine learning technology, the platform automatically predicts and eliminates advanced threats on email caused by human error, such as data exfiltration, accidental data loss, business email compromise, and phishing attacks. We do this with minimal disruption to employees’ workflow. As a result, employees are empowered to do their best work, without security getting in their way.
We are on a mission to improve the quality of our software to improve the overall user experience and satisfaction by providing top notch quality software that ideally never presents significant disrupting BAU bugs.
Therefore, we are seeking a skilled and experienced Quality Assurance Software Engineer to join our growing team. The Quality Assurance Software Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and executing software tests to ensure that our products meet customer and business requirements.
Your day-to-day
1. Collaborate with integration development teams to understand projects, consult on testing strategy, implement framework upgrades, and implement automated or whenever not possible, manual tests
2. Create and maintain test plans, test cases, test data and test scripts.
3. Collaborate with Product team to align QA objectives with business objectives on a continual basis
4. Perform both manual and automated testing of software applications
5. Identify and document defects and work with development teams to resolve them
6. Assist in the development of test automation scripts and generic, reusable test frameworks
7. Contribute to the improvement of quality and software development processes and methodologies
8. Participate in code reviews to identify and mitigate testing-related issues
9. Participate in incident management process, helping to identify and mitigate sources of preventable incidents
What you bring to the team
10. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience
11. 3-5 years of experience in software automated testing and quality assurance
12. Experience with Agile development methodologies
13. Experience with distributed systems
14. Strong understanding of software development and testing principles
15. Experience with test automation and scripting in Python
16. Experience with test management and bug tracking tools (Jira, Shortcut)
17. Experience testing mobile, web, and/or desktop applications
18. Familiarity with performance and load testing (Jmeter, Loadrunner, Locust)
19. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
20. Excellent written and verbal communication skills
