Procurement Officer – £35,000 to £42,000 per annum + excellent benefits – Permanent – South of England
We're delighted to be partnering with a forward-thinking local authority to recruit a Procurement Officer to join their high-performing Procurement Team.
This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in delivering strategic procurement activity, ensuring compliance, and driving value across a diverse portfolio of services.
Key Responsibilities
* Support procurement and tendering exercises from planning through to contract award
* Ensure all processes comply with Contract Standing Orders and UK procurement legislation
* Advise stakeholders on procurement routes, frameworks, and best practice
* Prepare tender documentation, including ITTs and procurement questionnaires
* Coordinate tender evaluations and support contract award processes
* Analyse spend data to identify cost‑saving opportunities and improve contract compliance
* Maintain robust audit trails and documentation across all procurement activity
* Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external suppliers
About You

Essential experience
* Proven experience in public sector procurement
* Strong knowledge of procurement legislation and regulatory frameworks
* Experience supporting end‑to‑end procurement processes
* Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
* A proactive, solutions‑focused approach
Desirable experience
* Professional procurement qualification (e.g. CIPS) or working towards
* Knowledge of local government procurement environments
