Job summary
We are seeking a highly motivated, dynamic Team Leader who enjoys a challenging but exciting working environment with a passion for achieving standards of excellence for children, young people and their families.
The successful post holder will be responsible for the management and leadership of three teams within childrens specialist services including the Community Paediatric Service, the Neurodevelopmental Pathway (NDP) Team (also known as the Multi-Disciplinary Team [MDT]) and the Neurodevelopmental Nursing Team (NDNT) across the Borough of Halton (Widnes and Runcorn). The purpose of this role is to ensure effective, efficient, timely delivery of high-quality clinical services.
The post holder will be one of a number of Team Leaders in childrens services across Bridgewater who report to the Operational Manager and will be based at the child development centre in Widnes. Mileage expenses will be paid for by the Trust to support travel around the Borough.
Knowledge of working with children and young people and their families with neurodiverse conditions and disabilities would be an advantage as would be having experience of leading and managing teams.

Tosupport staff to deliver high quality services that focus on meeting qualityoutcomes for service users and that adhere to national and professionalguidance.
Supportthe team to approach each case as an individual, to listen, understand andsupport the service user through their access to the service, involving themand their family as much as possible in all decisions about their care.
Ensurethere is high quality supportive written information available to share withthe child/young person and their families to help service users to understandthe clinical decisions made, and their role in managing their own and/or theirchilds care.

Ensurethere is a mechanism for Clinical Supervision within the team to providesupport to the team and to ensure maintenance of consistent clinical decisionmaking and practice.

Tobuild a customer focused team to actively collect and analyse service userfeedback and use it to improve service quality.
Tosupport staff to appropriately advocate for children and families, sharingtheir experiences to inform service improvement.
Tobuild relationships with other Bridgewater Team Leaders / services and partnerproviders across local Childrens Services network, including localparent/carer groups
Identifyways of communicating effectively on difficult, complex, and sensitive issues,supporting others to communicate, and updating and maintaining records andreports.
Supportstaff to manage their workload and to achieve a work life balance which isconsistent with maintaining good physical and mental health in the workplace,with reference to Trust policies.
Supportstaff where health issues or life events impact on their ability to work, inline with Bridgewater Human Resources policies.
Tosupport and cover for other team leaders ensuring there is always a continuityof support for staff and service users.
Deviseand update a workforce plan to ensure correct posts and staffing for servicedelivery in the specified clinical area/s, working with the Operational Managerto match capacity with demand.
Toensure all aspects of organisational policies are implemented includingrecruitment policy and process, induction of new staff into the service,clinical supervision, personal development processes and exit interviews.
Managethe budget relating to the team in conjunction with Operational Manager
Followprocedure for managing risks and incidents and action, accordingly, sharinglessons learned.
Managecapacity and workload for the team, allocating workload equitably.
Effectivelyimplement the attendance management policy
Tocontribute to performance management by collection and evaluation of data andquality analysis for the team.
Tobe accountable for timely reporting for areas including client data, annualleave, expenses, study leave
Tomonitor and report to Operational Manager any general HR issues discussing andtaking action as appropriate.
Managecomplaints and incidents within the service, implementing action plans asrequired.
Manageperformance issues with staff such as capability, poor performance, grievances,discipline and sickness absence, ensuring proactive approaches in line withorganisational policy and with support of Operational Manager
Respondto additional requests for information in your area of responsibility egFreedom of Information requests, CQC reporting.
Maintainand implement business continuity plans as required.
