Job Description
Following many successful collaborations, Wincanton is delighted to welcome Invar into our group.
Invar Group of Companies supplies integrated warehouse automation solutions. It comprises three divisions in the UK—Systems, Integration, and Controls—each providing key technologies, along with a division in The Netherlands serving the European market.
Invar Group offers automation technology development and supply, solutions design, project management, health & safety (including CDM), and aftersales maintenance and support services.
This acquisition marks a significant milestone in Wincanton’s strategic plan to enhance supply chain value through technology and automation.
Purpose of the Role
The Account Manager manages ongoing customer relationships, ensures contractual obligations are fulfilled, and provides a seamless customer experience. Responsibilities include delivery follow-up, reporting, supporting operational needs, and identifying new revenue opportunities.
Responsibilities
* Act as the primary contact for contract-related matters.
* Ensure compliance with contractual terms.
* Monitor contract performance against SLAs.
* Address issues or deviations promptly.
* Handle escalations effectively.
* Maintain strong customer relationships through regular communication.
* Participate in regular calls to provide updates and resolve concerns.
* Conduct site visits to ensure alignment and resolve on-site issues.
* Identify improvement areas and collaborate with internal teams.
* Coordinate support and project delivery efforts.
* Manage change requests with internal teams.
* Build relationships with customer stakeholders and technical teams.
* Identify and pursue revenue opportunities within assigned accounts.
* Support strategic planning and renewal processes with the Head of Accounts.
Requirements
* Proven experience in account management or client-facing roles (3+ years).
* Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
* Excellent active listening skills to understand customer needs.
* Experience in technology, automation, or warehouse operations (preferred).
* Ability to translate technical language into business benefits.
* Capability to manage multiple accounts and projects simultaneously.
* Proficiency in CRM systems and Microsoft Office.
* Strategic mindset with problem-solving skills.
* Ability to influence internal teams to meet customer needs.
* Background in logistics, retail, automation, or B2B tech services.
* Strong analytical and presentation skills.
* Familiarity with SLAs, service contracts, support models.
* Experience working with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.
Location
This role involves significant travel to customer sites. Ideally, the candidate will be based near Milton Keynes for on-site collaboration.
