Role Overview
The Food Operator is responsible for the end-to-end operational management of all operational processes for food truck and cloud kitchen service for delivery services.
This position is critical to ensuring managing and operational consistency, food safety compliance, and reliable delivery performance across both on-site and delivery-only channels.
Key Responsibilities
Cloud Kitchen & Delivery Operations
* Manage incoming orders from cloud kitchen delivery platforms (e.g. Deliveroo) and direct digital channels.
* Synchronise order preparation with kitchen cycles to optimise freshness and throughput.
* Coordinate handover to delivery drivers and courier partners.
* Oversee packaging, labelling, and final quality checks before orders leave the cloud kitchen
* Monitor delivery performance and address operational issues in real time.
* Support set-up, preparation and close-down procedures for cloud kitchen service periods.
Food Truck Operations
* Coordinate and operate daily food service operations of the food truck, including service preparation, dispatch timing, and order handover.
* Ensure smooth integration between the cooking system and the food truck service workflow.
* Support set-up, preparation and close-down procedures for food truck service periods.
Food Safety & Compliance
* Ensure full compliance with food safety, hygiene, and HACCP requirements across food truck and cloud kitchen operations.
* Maintain cleanliness and operational discipline of the cloud kitchen/food truck
* Follow and help refine standard operating procedures for mobile and fixed kitchen environments.
Customer & Platform Coordination
* Act as the operational point of contact for delivery platforms and courier partners during service hours int he cloud kitchen and for direct customersin the food truck
* Handle first-line customer service queries related to order status, quality, or delivery delays.
* Escalate recurring issues and operational risks to management.
Reporting & Pilot Optimisation
* Track daily volumes, peak times, delivery times, and incident reports across food truck and cloud kitchen channels.
* Provide structured feedback to management to support optimisation of the pilot model.
* Contribute to the standardisation of processes for future food trucks and cloud kitchens
Skills & Experience
* Previous experience in food service in food markets, food delivery or cloud-kitchen environments is desirable
* Strong organisational and time-management skills.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced, operational setting.
* Understanding of food hygiene and safety standards.
* Good communication skills and customer-focused mindset.
* Experience working with food delivery platforms (Deliveroo).
* Familiarity with operational checklists and process documentation.
