7 hour shifts or 13.5 hour shifts

As a Care Assistant in our dementia care home, you will be at the heart of our mission to provide safe, respectful, and person-centred care to residents living with dementia. You’ll support individuals with daily activities, promote independence, and help create a warm, engaging environment where every resident feels valued and understood.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Provide personal care including washing, dressing, toileting, and mobility support
2. Assist residents with meals, hydration, and nutritional needs
3. Engage residents in meaningful activities and conversation to support cognitive wellbeing
4. Monitor and report changes in residents’ physical or emotional health
5. Support residents with dementia using appropriate communication techniques and empathy
6. Uphold dignity, privacy, and respect in all interactions
7. Work collaboratively with colleagues, families, and healthcare professionals
8. Adhere to safeguarding, infection control, and health & safety protocols

Person Specification:

9. Genuine passion for caring for older people, especially those living with dementia
10. Good communication and interpersonal skills
11. Ability to work as part of a team and independently
12. Reliability, patience, and a caring nature
13. Willingness to undertake training and development
