Ringway are looking for an experienced Operations Manager to join the team of the Milton Keynes business unit (BU) a Term Services Contract (TSC). The role will predominately be based on the Milton Keynes TSC, however there may be a requirement to travel between the operational depots.
The role will be to manage and develop their operational divisions to budget aspirations and the RIS Business Plan. To meet all safety and quality obligations and the needs of clients and stakeholders both internally and externally
Duties and Responsibilities:
* Manage the operational divisions in line with budget and business plan
* Develop staff and operatives within their areas of responsibility to plan succession and enhance the effectiveness of the people resource
* Effective operational and financial management of professionally and vocationally qualified staff undertaking large, complex contracts
* Ensure Contract Managers implement appropriate systems and procedures in an efficient and effective manner in accordance with company policies, especially those relating to safety, quality and financial probity.
* Deploy sufficient resources to achieve client satisfaction commensurate with performance targets. Liaise with clients as necessary at all appropriate levels.
* Ensure financial systems are in place to effect proper and timely management of business areas as well as internal reporting.
* Ensure adequate procedures are in place to identify training needs of operatives and staff. Ensure training needs are met commensurate with delivery of service and the requirements of the local business areas.
* Ensure the Company Disciplinary Procedures and Standards of Performance are met by all employees, with a good example set.
* Willingly carry out any reasonable task as requested by Managers.
What we are looking for:
* Experience of working as an Operations/Contracts Manager for Highways contractor is desirable
* knowledge of the NEC Suite of Contracts in particular the Term Services Contract.
* or Post Graduate qualification in an associated construction related qualification.
* level of proficiency in MS Office, including Excel, Outlook and Word is required for this role.
* communication skills and deal with commercial matters in a pragmatic and effective manner
* full UK driving license is essential as a level of travel will be required
