We are recruiting for a Chief Cardiac Physiologist for Echocardiography who will share our vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients. We offer a region‑leading Cardiac Imaging Service that includes Complex ACHD, 3D Echocardiography, pharmacological and exercise ischaemic stress echo, strain echo, TOE, DSE, transcatheter structural intervention, and cardio‑oncology echocardiography, as well as providing advanced cardiac imaging input to regional hospitals and a range of West Midlands MDTs.
Responsibilities
* Triage and assess referred patients.
* Monitor the appropriateness of referrals, obtain relevant information for patient care, interpret and report clinical findings, and ensure appropriate discharge or ongoing care.
* Encourage and support staff to obtain BSE accreditation.
* Provide teaching and support to all members of the department and medical staff learning technical cardiology, actively encouraging and developing a multidisciplinary approach to cardiac care.
* Maintain full national accreditation and undertake further training as required for professional development and service provision.
* Actively involve in supervision and training of other cardiac physiologists.
* Participate on a roster basis as required.
* Monitor and maintain the quality of services within echocardiography.
* Continuously develop highly technical specialist and advanced practical skills in complex echo service.
* Participate in the day‑to‑day running of the department, ensuring the smooth running of a quality service.
Qualifications
* Completed a BSc in Clinical Physiology (or equivalent).
* Hold full BSE accreditation in Adult Transthoracic Echocardiography.
* Be a competent practitioner in echocardiography procedures.
* Have advanced knowledge of products and procedures.
* Be capable of autonomously performing routine and complex diagnostic echocardiography procedures.
* Will provide an immunisation and vaccination report from a UK occupational health provider or UK GP.
* Be enthusiastic, hardworking, and motivated, with excellent communication skills, able to work both as part of a team and independently.
