Job Title: Analytical Chemist – Global Agrochemical Company
Contract: 24 months
Salary: £18.08 per hour
SRG are working with a global agrochemical company seeking an Analytical Chemist to join their busy team. They are looking for a chemistry-related graduate with some industrial experience.
Responsibilities
* Prepare and analyse samples using chromatographic techniques such as GC and HPLC.
* Present and discuss the results from analytical studies with the relevant teams to ensure objectives are met.
* Plan, monitor and control work in collaboration with team leaders to meet deadlines and communicate results effectively in a timely manner. The ability to prepare and deliver progress updates for stakeholders is key to this role.
* Be customer-focused by actively seeking information relevant to the work in hand and discussing issues and problems with colleagues in the formulation, manufacturing and synthetic chemistry departments.
* Be a problem solver, with the ability to assess complex and diverse situations creatively and generate original solutions.
* Knowledge and understanding of a broad range of the analytical techniques relevant to the characterisation of samples in order to maximise the effectiveness of the team by selecting the most appropriate techniques and methodologies.
* A first degree in Chemistry or a closely related subject with significant analytical content.
* Experience of analytical techniques used for qualitative and quantitative analysis, notably GC and HPLC.
* Experience in GC-MS, LC-MS and spectrophotometry (desirable but not essential).
* Knowledge of extraction procedures and other sample preparation technologies suitable for the characterisation of agrochemicals or similar products.
* Effective oral and written communication skills, a high level of numeracy and the ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences.
Qualifications
* First degree in Chemistry or closely related subject with significant analytical content.
* Experience with analytical techniques for qualitative and quantitative analysis, especially GC and HPLC.
* Desirable: experience with GC-MS, LC-MS and spectrophotometry.
* Knowledge of extraction procedures and sample preparation for agrochemicals or similar products.
* Strong communication and numeracy skills suitable for diverse audiences.
