This engineer will collaborate heavily with other departments including Project Design, Assets, Business Development and Integration, to ensure that portable shows are set up for success. While this specialist may some projects through the entire design phase into shop integration, their priority will be setting projects up for success from the early bidding and concept stages. Responsibilities Identifies architecture and key controls components to meet project needs Understands automated systems, and how the various disciplines (mechanical, controls, artistic, etc) interact Draws preliminary risers for tours to be handed off to Integration and Crew teams Creates or facilitates hazard analyses when necessary to determine required needs for a show Works with Technical Directors to create initial axis lists Prescribes project Asset selection for portable systems to optimize functionality and safety while considering the limitations and availability of the asset fleet May perform other Control Engineering tasks as required Collaborates with cross-functional teams to ensure that systems meet performance and safety requirements, and function according to best practices and applicable standards Contributes to design reviews with productive feedback Ensures smooth handover of projects and actively solicits feedback from other groups from the Achieve team. Works with business development to identify and close project work in the UK/EU Market. Expected Travel: 20-40% Position Requirements Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Technical Theater or equivalent experience.
