Day-to-day of the role:
1. Provide teaching and support to pupils, following individualised curriculums.
2. Plan, prepare, and deliver lessons and activities, focusing largely on communication skills and life skills.
3. Support pupils’ participation in trips, applying theory-based learning to practice.
4. Provide behaviourally based support to replace and reduce behaviours that impact quality of life.
5. Provide personal care, encouraging pupils to maintain acceptable levels of hygiene (toileting, feeding).
6. Monitor pupil progress, ensuring teaching is appropriate and effective for each child’s needs.
