Are you passionate about raising standards and making sure people have the right skills to deliver safe, successful projects? We’re looking for an experienced Competency Manager to take ownership of workforce capability and compliance within a leading construction environment.
This is a key role, ensuring that both staff and subcontractors are fully trained, qualified, and ready to perform to the highest standards. You’ll be at the heart of driving a culture of safety, professionalism, and continuous improvement.
What you’ll be doing
* Developing and managing competency frameworks for staff and supply chain
* Verifying qualifications, certifications, and training before staff go on site
* Spotting skills gaps and coordinating training with HR & Learning teams
* Auditing supply chain competency and maintaining compliance records
* Reporting regularly to senior management on workforce capability
What we’re looking for
* Proven experience in competency management, training, or compliance in the construction sector
* Strong knowledge of construction processes, H&S legislation and regulatory frameworks
* Familiarity with industry bodies & accreditations (CIOB, RICS, RIBA, CITB, CSCS, NVQs etc.)
* Excellent organisational, auditing, and reporting skills
* A confident communicator able to engage staff, management, and subcontractors
