Responsibilities
* Follow documented standard work procedures/instructions to perform safe and defect free assembly of parts and components, using various hand, power tools and lifting equipment provided in the work area.
* Follow and utilise Caterpillar Production System principles of continuous improvement reporting, waste elimination and standard work.
* Operate BCP built products where required.
* Train/coach new Assembly Technicians/Apprentices to standard work instructions.
* Keep the work area clean, tidy and safe in line with 5S and total preventative maintenance (TPM).
* Participate in rapid improvement workshops (RIW's) contributing process expertise.
* Adhere to the Organisation's health & safety policy and safe working practices.
* Adhere to Caterpillar's Values in Action: Integrity, Commitment, Excellence, Teamwork
* Undertake training and further learning as required.
Qualifications
* Demonstrable high level of assembly or mechanical aptitude and accuracy with a good working knowledge of assembly practices.
* The ability to read, comprehend and follow verbal and written instructions/procedures.
* The ability to work closely with others is imperative, requiring team participation to achieve the agreed objectives.
* Effective communication skills to liaise with various levels of the organisation.
* Fully flexible approach to the job role & responsibilities (willing to work overtime).
* Ability to use hand/power tools and lifting equipment.
* Prepared to undertake required training/learning.
* Willing to work a multi-shift pattern.
Desirable/Additional Skills
* Previous experience of working within a manufacturing assembly environment.
* Good hydraulic, electrical, diagnostic/problem solving skills.
* Relevant NVQ level 2/equivalent or higher.

* Job Title: Test Booth Technician
* Salary: £27,855 rising when role triggers are met to £29,279
* Contract: Permanent
