Corporate Banking Manager - Oxford & Abingdon

Job Introduction
This is an exciting opportunity to join an established team at the Oxford & Abingdon branch as a Corporate Banking Manager. The successful candidate will manage a portfolio of business customers across the full suite of corporate products and services. The portfolio is predominantly made up of property lending customers, with a mix of local trading businesses and non‑borrowing customers. You will have full responsibility for all aspects of client relationships, including preparation of credit applications, customer financial and risk analysis, balance sheet analysis, annual reviews, monitoring of management accounts, covenant compliance and profitability. You will also develop the portfolio further to grow the business by interacting with existing customers and by winning and onboarding new customers, with a passion for customer service and a strong focus on profitability and business development.
Main Responsibilities
* Maintain and develop a portfolio of corporate customers, building relationships and ensuring customer satisfaction through excellent service.
* Identify, meet, and win prospective new customers and introducers by outlining the benefits of our service and facilities.
* Complete credit applications and credit annual reviews in line with the Bank’s Credit Policy.
* Interpret financial information provided by customers, evaluate lending propositions, assess and formulate risk ratings correctly, and structure transactions to ensure appropriate customer selection.
* Develop and maintain a sound understanding of the local market, and maintain relationships with professional firms and introducers.
* Attend suitable networking events and undertake focused business development activities.
* Identify and offer customers, on a needs basis, the appropriate Handelsbanken products and services, effectively communicating relevant features, benefits and risks.
* General administration, including preparation/review of legal documentation for accounts (including KYC/AML reviews) and lending facilities.

* Applicants with a proven track‑record in corporate relationship and portfolio management are welcomed. The successful candidate will understand the Bank’s Credit Policy and processes and will drive their own performance. They will have demonstrable knowledge of the Bank’s suite of corporate products and a good understanding of competitor products, relevant industry, and market‑driven trends.
* The successful applicant will build strong professional relationships at all levels, represent Handelsbanken effectively, and possess exceptional interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal).
* The applicant must be a strong team player, flexible, proactive, conscientious, with a positive attitude, working with integrity and discretion under pressure.
* They will provide exceptional service to existing and potential customers, with strong attention to detail and an organised approach to work.
* Previous experience in lending documentation/security and AML/KYC procedures for business customers/transactions is advantageous.
* They must have a high level of computer literacy (Microsoft Word and Excel); training will be provided for additional internal IT systems.
