Rockstar Removals are a young, highly professional removal company that are in the process of growing and expanding, and we are recruiting for a lead porter role. This position receives the first pick of jobs for the week, so gets the most hours of all the staff members, which can range between part time regularly up to full time hours. The position would also require the candidate to occasionally drive one of the vans in the company's fleet on busy days and occasionally cover the Team Leader/Driver's leave days.

Rockstar Removals seeks to deliver the absolute best removal service in the North West, described by clients as "A Michelin star restaurant of a company, but on wheels." Therefore, other than physical aptitude, we are looking for particular qualities to represent our company ethos. These include consideration and politeness towards clients, well-mannered behaviour, efficiency, good communication and team work and dedication to getting the job done as best as possible. For this reason a background in hospitality or customer care is sought after.

Your role will be to work typically as part of a 2 man team, but also frequently 3 and 4 man teams. Occasionally on the very arge jobs, 6 men teams with multiple vans. In each case helping to lift and courier items in and out of clients' properties using a 3.5 tonne luton box with a tail lift to convey goods between properties. The role is very well suited to people with practical intelligence, who enjoy a little bit of puzzle solving and have good spacial awareness, physical aptitude, confidence and people skills. Knowing the process of house removals and couriering well and having a clear idea of how to proceed efficiently, safely and considerately within the context of clients' homes, offices and storage sites, all of which are a little bit different, is key and will be developed during training for the role. Driving roles are likely to occur approximately once, sometimes twice a week, sometimes more during Summer (the busy period) As with many small businesses, the period encompassing Post Xmas, January and February is our quiet period.

Payment is £12.20 per hour, fixed pay per job, which you will earn even if the client's job has taken less than the designated time to complete. After 6 months you will begin receiving daily 1/2 hour bonuses dependent on the number of jobs booked for the day.

Applicants have to be physically fit, competent at driving (training will be organised if applicants have not handled a 3.5 tonne vehicle before) communicate and work well within a team and enjoy long distance travelling. The job is a little different everyday and will be of great enjoyment to those that get bored easily. Approximately 70% of our work is local, 30% is long distance, all around the country. We also have contract work for businesses which represents about 20% of our trade. You get to see many interesting parts of the country as well as potentially Europe (if the post Brexit rules improve) in this job so it's of benefit if travelling is something you enjoy.
