REF: JOB6086 This vacancy is within the QuAI Health team our modern, technology-driven toxicology laboratory business unit that provides rapid, high-quality workplace drug and alcohol testing. Role Outline The role involves supporting delivery of high-quality, right-first-time results within agreed turnaround times using state of the art LC-MS/MS systems, maintaining the laboratory equipment and records to ensure the facility is always audit-ready. As part of a small, innovative team, the Senior Laboratory Analyst will gain exposure to all aspects of laboratory management and continuous improvement, providing exceptional opportunities for professional development and future career growth. What you'll be doing: You will perform sample preparation (e.g., solid-phase extraction) and analysis of drugs and alcohol using LC-MS/MS in accordance with validated methods, conduct review of analytical data and ensure analytical results meet defined quality standards and maintain accurate and complete laboratory records, including instrument logs, maintenance records, and QC documentation. You will ensure all work is performed in compliance with ISO/IEC 17025 requirements, laboratory SOPs, and safety policies. Supporting the validation or verification of new or improved analytical methods under guidance from the Laboratory Director. You will monitor stock levels and consumables to ensure uninterrupted laboratory operations and identify and communicate any deviations, instrument issues, or non-conformances promptly, assisting with investigation and resolution. You will take responsibility for keeping the laboratory clean, safe and well organised and contribute to continuous improvement activities aimed at enhancing efficiency, quality, and turnaround times. What we are looking for: You will hold a BSc (or equivalent) in Chemistry, Analytical Science, or a related field and have experience working in an ISO/IEC 17025-accredited or similarly regulated laboratory. You will have an understanding of the quality requirements expected of a laboratory operating in a UKAS accredited environment and have the ability to work independently and maintain consistency and quality without direct supervision. You will have a strong analytical mindset and be comfortable managing multiple priorities and able to adapt to changes. Location: You will be based at our site near Bicester Hours: This is a full-time position, 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday - working one weekend day in 3 (with a day off the following week) Salary The salary banding is £35,000 to £40,000 depending on qualifications and experience.
