Salary: £32,000 – £37,000 DOE
Hours: Monday to Friday 08:00-17:00
Our client is a well-established, family-run logistics business with a long-standing reputation in freight forwarding, warehousing, and distribution. They are seeking a passionate and driven Freight Forwarder to join their growing team. Responsibilities
* Coordinate and manage end-to-end freight forwarding operations across import and export shipments
* Liaise with carriers, overseas agents, suppliers, and customers to ensure smooth and timely movement of goods
* Prepare, check, and process all required shipping and customs documentation accurately
* Monitor shipment progress and provide regular updates to customers and stakeholders
* Troubleshoot and resolve any operational issues or delays as they arise
* Ensure full compliance with relevant transport, customs, and trade regulations
* Negotiate rates with carriers and suppliers to achieve cost-effective solutions
* Maintain accurate records across all shipments, including tracking, billing, and documentation
* Deliver a high standard of customer service, responding promptly to queries and requests
* Experience across both import and export freight operations
Qualifications / Skills
* Freight forwarding experience minimum 2 years’ experience
* Someone who can take ownership and see the job through from start to finish
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong attention to detail
* Proven ability to problem-solve quickly and make effective decisions under pressure
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload effectively
* Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
* Highly driven, self-motivated, and committed to achieving results
