Description Provide expert advice to managers on complex ER cases including disciplinary, grievance, sickness, and capability issues Deputise for the Head of Employee Relations and represent the service at senior operational meetings and staff-side forums Support and monitor ER KPIs, producing detailed monthly reports and dashboards to inform management decisions Review and develop ER policies, ensuring legal compliance and best practice across all workforce policies Lead on organisational change initiatives, including restructures and TUPE, in collaboration with HR Business Partners Support job evaluation and job matching processes, coordinating panels and advising on quality assurance for job descriptions Train and coach line managers, improving ER capability and promoting early resolution of conflict Promote a positive ER climate, fostering collaborative relationships with trade unions and staff representatives Manage and mentor ER Advisors, ensuring efficient workload delegation and continuous professional development Drive continuous improvement, identifying cost-effective HR interventions and contributing to Trust-wide people strategiesProfile A successful SR. ER Advisor should have: Strong expertise in employment law and ER case management in a complex, unionised setting CIPD, Chartered Member, or equivalent HR qualification/experience. Significant ER experience in a complex, multidisciplinary organisation-NHS experience highly preferred Demonstrable knowledge of UK employment law and relevant NHS terms and conditions Proven ability to advise on high-risk ER cases, including attendance at Employment Tribunals High proficiency in data analysis, reporting, and ER systems Strong communication skills and the ability to produce well-reasoned written advice and formal reports Willingness and ability to travel across sites as neededJob Offer A competitive benefit package 4-month initial contract with view to extend or go permanent Hybrid working: 3 days on-site at East Surrey Hospital
