Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Roofer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in various roofing techniques and be proficient in using hand and power tools. This role involves working on residential and commercial roofing projects, ensuring the highest standards of quality and safety are maintained.
Duties
* Install, repair, and replace roofing systems using a variety of materials including shingles, metal, and flat roofing systems.
* Read and interpret schematics to understand project specifications and requirements.
* Perform welding tasks as needed for specific roofing applications.
* Utilise hand tools and power tools effectively to complete roofing installations.
* Conduct regular inspections of roofs to identify potential issues or necessary repairs.
* Collaborate with other construction professionals, including carpenters and plumbers, to ensure seamless project execution.
* Engage in heavy lifting as required for transporting materials and equipment on-site.
* Maintain a clean and safe work environment by following health and safety regulations.
Skills
* Proficiency in reading schematics and blueprints related to roofing projects.
* Experience with welding techniques relevant to roofing applications.
* Strong skills in using hand tools such as hammers, chisels, and saws, as well as power tools like drills and nail guns.
* Background in construction with specific experience in roofing practices.
* Knowledge of fabrication processes related to roofing materials.
* Basic carpentry skills for structural support adjustments during installations.
* Ability to perform heavy lifting safely, handling materials weighing up to 50 kg.
* Familiarity with plumbing concepts that may intersect with roofing work.
