Are you ready to accept our challenge?Job Purpose:The purpose of the role is to use engineering expertise to overhaul and maintain all types of rotating equipment diagnose and correct plant equipment problems and drive improvement in equipment reliability using preventative maintenance techniques.Responsibilities:Troubleshoot equipment problems/failures and determine actions required to prevent re-occurrence. Directly use other technical experts within the TMS team in solving problems beyond their own experience and knowledge, plus work with specialist contractors as required.Lead, organise and execute engineering tasks for which they have the skill and capability to perform safely and effectively, including ‘codal’ compliant work. Use of SAP to create/close notifications and order materials.Requirements:Suitable candidates will be time served with relevant Petrochemical industry experience, with the ideal candidate having a flexible approach to working in and across different teams.Experience for major overhaul of the main machines (reciprocating and centrifugal compressors), cryogenic ‘canned’ pumps, ‘normal ‘ boiler feedwater / brine / effluent centrifugal pumps and HP / N2 compressors as well as general mechanical skills including joint making. Working on older machinery where ‘reverse engineering’ has been applied, would be useful.As all the plants are COMAH and IPPC registered, and applicants must be able to display a high concern for operational safety, health and environmental standards. A full trade related apprenticeship and/or HNC/HND qualification would be advantageous.Quite simply, a journey with Altrad begins with a desire to create a better tomorrow…
