The Job:
On behalf of our client we are seeking a Senior Mechanical Estimator.
In this role our client is seeking someone who can:
* Produce accurate and high-quality tender bids in line with the commercial governance process
* Support, maintain, develop and build the estimating department alongside procurement
* Owner for the mechanical element of the estimating function
* Identify potential opportunities to increase revenue and margin, feeding leads through to the sales function
* Responsible for production of detailed tender bids, attending tender meetings and conducting post tender handover meetings - supporting the company’s growth development plan
* Analysing tender specifications, schedules and drawings to ensure adequate information is available to produce accurate pricing.
* Issue supplier and sub-contractor enquiries, and evaluation of quotations upon return.
* Take off quantities of materials and apply labour values accordingly.
* Provide core costs and advise of challenges / risks pre-submission.
* Prepare tender submissions in the requested format and by set deadlines.
* Attending post tender client meetings.
* Preparing internal handover documents and attending handover meetings.
* Maintain and update supplier and subcontractor registers.
* Build and sustain client relationships.
The Person:
For this role our client is seeking someone who has:
Skill Set, Qualifications and Experience
* HNC/HND level qualification.
* Proven experience in mechanical estimating.
* Tendered and secured mechanical bids up to the value of 2m.
* Design, Electrical and Installers experience.
* Excellent attitude and approach to work
* Highly self-reliant, motivated and enthusiastic
* Approachable, open and able to work as part of a team
* Excellent customer care and interpersonal skills
* Commitment to quality and attention to detail
