Central Alliance part of the RSK Group have an exciting new opportunity for a Logging & Reporting Geoscientist to join their team in Wakefield, UK.
The Role:
Working for our Ground Investigation team, that consists of geologists and geotechnical engineers, the role is to support field staff and Project Managers by processing and QAQC checking data collected in the field / returned from laboratories, compiling factual reports to clients, and building strong, professional working relationships with stakeholders.
The role is based out of our Wakefield and / or Normanton Offices, and includes some flexibility to work from home, once competent in role. We are offering the role on a full-time or part-time, permanent basis, and are open to discuss flexibility on working days and hours.
This role would be idea for a graduate in geosciences / engineering that is yet to get started in industry, or for a more experienced geoscientist that is looking for a more flexible role, with no / very limited working on site.
Accountabilities:
* Type up and manage preliminary soil and rock hole logs, in accordance with BS5930:2020, issuing to clients in specified timeframes.
* Where required, update soil and rock hole logs, in accordance with laboratory reports and corrections issued by clients.
* Attend yard logging area to assist project managers with logging of samples, liners and core boxes that return from site.
* Quality check incoming site data (logs, photos, as-built survey, monitoring and SHEQ etc) ensuring all is present, correct, and filed accordingly.
* Promptly and professionally query and chase up any missing data / gaps in data / inaccurate data with relevant stakeholders, rectifying as soon as possible
* Liaise with laboratories in a timely and professional manner.
* Ensure all project files are maintained to provide a fully auditable administrative trail in line with ISO accreditation.
* Write and compile factual reports to a high standard, issuing to Project Managers for checking before issuing to Clients.
* Be aware of and work to, in-house and Client specified timeframes and data schedules.
* Maintain the company's reputation on a project by ensuring excellent relationships are maintained with the client, other framework partners and suppliers.
* Ensure compliance with drawings, specifications and client requirements.
* Be willing to attend site from time to time, to develop understanding of the ground investigation site works and data collection.
* Maintain and drive quality standards throughout the work you manage.
* Support Project Managers with tasks such as additional reports, compiling case studies, permits, inspections, SHEQ documentation and improvement projects.
* Adhere to all RSK company policies and adhere to client policies and procedures when on site.
