Key Responsibilities: * Prepare and analyse management accounts, board papers, budgets, and forecasts. * Act as a key point of contact for internal and external audits (in office and on site – UK travel expected). * Work closely with operational teams, providing financial advice and insights. * Support process improvements, financial controls, and policy development. * Write and compile lengthy reports including a mix of financial and operational information. * Analyse and interpret data sets to support decision-making. * Supervise and mentor an accountant handling day-to-day finance operations. * Participate in compliance reviews. What We’re Looking For: * ACA/ACCA/CIMA (or equivalent) qualification. * Experience in accounting, audit, or financial advisory, this role may suit someone from an accountancy practice background. * Strong analytical skills - ability to interpret and present financial data. * Comfortable in an SME environment, with the ability to work flexibly across teams. * Advanced Excel skills (vlookup, sumif, ifs, etc) * A confident decision maker, able to make difficult decisions and communicate these to external stakeholders * A proactive, problem-solving approach with a keen eye for detail * The ability to write reports – financial and operational – either proven experience of this or the ability and willingness to learn * Strong organisational skills with the ability to oversee operational teams This is a unique opportunity for a finance professional who wants to make an impact beyond the numbers.
